What is “Transition”?
“Transition”—as defined by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE)—is “the process students and their families use to think about life after high school.”
Successful post-secondary outcomes require collaboration among schools, community service agencies, and students and their families to ensure that students acquire the knowledge and skills to prepare them for post school employment, community living, and post-secondary education. This website has been specially designed to assist students and their families in planning for transition. It contains information and links that we hope you will find helpful in deciding how to plan for your future.
